Product Description

Succinic Anhydride (SAA), also known as Butanedioic anhydride, is a high-activity cyclic acid anhydride intermediate, appearing as white flakes solid. It is soluble in ethanol, chloroform and carbon tetrachloride, slightly soluble in ether; it hydrolyses to succinic acid upon contact with hot water.

Main Applications

Pharmaceutical & Fine-Chemical Intermediates

Key raw material for synthesizing γ-butyrolactone, 1,4-butanediol, sulfa drugs, vitamin series and peptide intermediates. Acts as acylation reagent for organic synthesis to improve reaction selectivity and reduce byproducts.

Used for manufacturing plant-growth regulators, fungicide and pesticide intermediates, supporting formulation production for crop protection.
